Name is Skylar (Aka Sky for short )
My approach to photography is the art of noticing.
My aim is to capture all the details of what unfolds before me.
Being present and seizing the moment for you to be transported back to later when you view your curated images that show the cinematic moments that create your life.
Where does the name Seize the Shutter come from?
I combined my love for photography
("shutter" being the mechanism on a camera that allows for light to be let in for a specific time) with the act of "seize" to speak on my desire to claim every moment we have on this planet. On a more personal side, involving the word "seize" is a way for me to reclaim my epilepsy diagnosis that I've lived with since adolescence and never let my invisible disablity stop me from pursuing my dreams.

Fact 1
I fell in love with art first by drawing & painting the nature I immersed myself in and the nature books I consumed as a youngen.
My love affair with photography really took off in highschool where I got to shoot and process my own film in my art teacher's darkroom.

I love animals of all kinds!
I'm a believer that with respect and understanding all species can be encountered and offer a lesson to teach us on how to inhabit this beautiful shared planet we all get to call home.

Music is something that fuels my soul!
Lyrics can be poetry and therapy,
I love music of almost any genre you can imagine-I'm always down to hear your faves!

I have a college degree in Sign Language Interpreting and pride myself on knowing ASL(American Sign Language) & knowledge of Deaf and HOH( hard of hearing) individuals.
I ultimately decided not to pursue this as a career but always love to practice my skills and make myself available to those needing an interpreter.
